Publications

The Bermuda Rose Society was founded in 1954 as a botanical organisation. Since then, BRS members have gathered to share our mutual interest, knowledge, expertise, and resources. Through our publications, we continue to embrace our shared mission to ‘protect, preserve, promote and propagate Bermuda Roses and Bermuda Rose Heritage’.

Roses in Bermuda Revisited

Roses in Bermuda Revisited is the latest edition of the Society’s ‘rose book’. Published in 2013, it received the World Federation of Rose Societies Literary Award in 2015.

Our first book, Old Garden Roses in Bermuda, was published in 1984. In 1997, the book was updated and republished as Roses in Bermuda.  Both of these editions are now out of print.

Roses in Bermuda Revisited shares our joy of roses on our island.  These bloom continually – especially from October through May, when the Society meets – and this book is a useful guide to identifying roses grown in Bermuda.  We focus on ‘Old Garden Roses’, especially the China and Tea varieties, as well as our many ‘Mystery Roses’ some of which have been accorded the ultimate honour of being identified simply as ‘Bermuda Roses’.

Our books are available for purchase in the Horticultural Hall at monthly Society meetings or by emailing OfficeBRS@bermudarosesociety.org. They are also sold at select locations across the island.
